Dr Christie Boucher completed her veterinary degree in 2000 at Onderstepoort, University of Pretoria. The travel bug called and she left for the United Kingdom where she worked for a number of years.  It was here where she acquired an interest and love for ophthalmology and proceeded to complete a certificate of the   European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies in Ophthalmology. Christie has attended numerous international conferences and courses during her travels abroad. Back on South African soil she received the opportunity to follow her dream and study further in Ophthalmology at the University of Pretoria. She obtained her Honours degree in 2015 and qualified as a Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialist in 2017 when she obtained her Master’s degree.  She has worked at the Johannesburg Animal Eye Hospital since 2016 before moving down to the Cape this year.  In her spare time she enjoys running and cycling, when not running around after her kids.
